Southwest Precinct Community Room, 2300 S. W. Webster St The Director of DPD is convening the Design Review Board for a second recommendation regarding a mixed-use development at the corner of SW Alaska St and 39th Ave. SW (current location of Schucks and Hancock Fabrics). The proposal is for a six-story building containing 60,000 sq. ft. of retail at ground level and 178 residential units above. Parking for 487 vehicles to be provided at and below grade within garage. Existing 16,000 sq. ft. retail building to be demolished. The applicant has applied for Design Review related to development of this site for a mixed-use development. At the Design Review Board meeting the applicant will present information about the proposed design and how it responds to the Design Guideline priorities established at the Early Design Guidance Board meetings on February 23, March 23, and December 14, 2006, regarding this site; the public may offer comments regarding the proposed design; and, the Design Review Board members will offer to the Director of the Department of Planning and Development their recommendations regarding the design.
