The annual drumming to call in the spawners to Fauntleroy Creek will be Sunday, Oct. 21, starting at 5 p.m. at the fish ladder viewpoint This year's emphasis will be on gratitude for all that the salmon bring to our community and the entire region. Jamie Shilling will lead the singing and drumming, and we'll act out a salmon story from the rich mythology of the Coast Salish people. Bring a drum of any kind, a rain stick, or noise maker of your choice to reenact the sound of tails slapping water as female spawners form redds for their eggs.
