The Neighborhood Matching Fund Program provides cash awards to community organizations for neighborhood-based projects. One of its programs, the Small and Simple Projects Fund, accepts applications for projects that request up to $15,000 and that can be completed in twelve months. The next round of Small & Simple Neighborhood Fund applications are due August 31, 2009. To help people who would like to apply for matching funds for community projects, the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods is hosting technical assistance workshops to help community organizations learn how to apply for the Small & Simple Project Fund through the Neighborhood Matching Fund. Participants will learn everything from developing their project idea to understanding permitting requirements in preparation for the August 31 application deadline, the last application cycle of the year. The workshops are free and will be taught by Neighborhood Matching Fund project managers. Please RSVP to Wendy Watson at 206-684-0719 or
