RE:            Murray CSO Control Project

Dear Ms. Tuttle:

We’d like to thank King County for your participation at the Morgan Community Association (MoCA) quarterly meeting held on April 21, 2010. We hope that the meeting represented a valuable time for all involved with the Murray CSO Control Project.

We’ve found that there is a lot of public interest in this project. Over 70 citizens attended the meeting to learn about the Murray CSO project, and many provided substantial feedback to you.

We’d like to provide our comments on this important project that impacts portions of the Morgan Community.

  1. With the overwhelming response to the two meetings that you have conducted, MoCA strongly encourages King County to completely revise project timelines, and vastly increase the public process on the Murray project.
  2. MoCA endorses the creation of a widely representational stakeholders group with accountability to work with King County and consultant to site an appropriate facility.
  3. MoCA urges greater community-based decision making on this project including input on solutions to short term and long term impacts to roadways, parks, private properties as well as Puget Sound.

We look forward to your response. The next MoCA quarterly meeting is scheduled for July 21, 2010 and we’d be glad to have you on that agenda.

Sincerely,

Deb Barker, President

Morgan Community Association
